As the world’s leading mental health watchdog, CCHR has long championed the rights of individuals to be free from abusive and coercive practices committed under the guise of mental health and has helped enact more than 180 worldwide protections that uphold civil and human rights.  These accomplishments would not have been possible without the generosity of our supporters. Our current campaigns include exposing the link between psychiatric drugs and violence, working to ban the use of electroshock especially on children, pregnant women and the elderly, full informed consent for all in the field of mental health including the right to refuse dangerous and damaging treatments, and much more.
